Prevent theft at the exhibition

The issue of theft at exhibitions requires you to stay alert. This is especially the case during the build-up and breakdown phases when items can be stolen easily (and they often are). Thieves know that exhibitors tend to be distracted at those times and that the guards can’t keep an eye on everything and distinguish who’s who in the midst of the tumult.

It would be wise to have someone stationed at the stand to keep an eye on everything as of the time when you start placing valuable items in the stand. Make sure that you have a sufficient amount of people present early on when the exhibition activities kick-off; you can be called away from the stand for numerous reasons and having just one person present for the set-up phase is irresponsible.

At the end of the exhibition day, and definitely on the last day, attentiveness tends to hit a low point. Understandably so seeing as exhibiting can be as strenuous as a hard workout at the gym! Do your best to ensure that at least a few of your people are still on full alert and make them responsible for stowing away/removing any theft-sensitive items. Only once that has been taken care of, is it time for some well-deserved relaxation.
